Well, Joss Whedon has done it again… Â The corporation behind the DollHouse appears to be the Rossum corporation. Â (Okay, I’m slightly behind on Friday’s Dollhouse episode)…
Still don’t understand? Â How about Wikipedia?
R.U.R. (Rossum’s Universal Robots) is a science fiction play in the Czech language by Karel ÄŒapek, and an upcoming feature film of the same name from director James Kerwin. It premiered in 1921 and is famous for having introduced and popularized the term robot.
The play begins in a factory that makes ‘artificial people’ — they are called Robots, but are closer to the modern idea of androids or even clones, creatures who can be mistaken for humans. They can plainly think for themselves. Although they seem happy to work for humans, that changes and leads to the end of the human race due to a hostile robot rebellion.
What does this mean for the Dollhouse? Maybe nothing… Â But there has been spoilers, and hints, that the Actives will be revolting.. Â And we have the faction inside the Dollhouse that supposedly tampered with the programming… Â Assuming that was not a trick, of course…
Either way, we’ll find out… Â And here’s hoping to a good continuation of the series…. And now that I have finished watching Echoes.. Â I have to admit that Joss still has his touch. Â I suspect he like’s his flash back’s too much for Fox’s taste… Â But he’s slowing introducing the reality behind the doll house for all to see.
