Some notes from the first episode of the “new” Doctor who Episode Rose, 1×01.

Definite Bloopers
*****************

* The TV news shows the time to be 8:45 in two shots 80 seconds apart.
* The Auton hand jumps from behind the Tyler’s sofa, despite it being
pushed against the wall before and after that shot.
* In the bin scene, the lighting is catastrophically strong, with
reflections off, and Mickey’s shadow on, the Volkswagon.
* Two of the three shots of the bride Autons’ hands opening are in the
wrong order — the second shot shows all three hands opened, but then
another one opens in the third shot.
* Despite it apparently not being anywhere near winter (everyone is
wearing T-shirts etc in Trafalgar Square), it goes from quite light to
pitch dark in the few minutes Rose is in the basement at work. The same
applies between bin scene and pizza scene, but that can be explained
away, especially if you assume the TARDIS moved forward in time a little
when travelling to the Thames (Big Ben shows the time is about 10:30).
And are shops really open that late?

Debatable Bloopers

* Why doesn’t Rose’s mum notice and comment on the damage in the unit
after the Auton hand attacks (eg. the smashed coffee table)?
* The TV news reports “No fatalities”, but Rose says the news reported a
body (Wilson?) was found (presumably the morning news was more up to
date).
* The Auton hand appears to disobey the laws of physics when it jumps
from the Doctor to Rose.
* search-wise.net has never been a real search engine (it does exist
though).
* Why does the bin get put out despite having just one bit of cardboard
in it? (Maybe the Nestene Consciousness empties the bins for the
Council?)
